email sales pitches to buy more weight loss gimmicks and gadgets
or other health and beauty products. (Very common with our major
competitors.)
5. Requirements
to buy expensive pre-packaged diet meals, meal substitute
protein powders drinks, weight loss medications/pills, weight
loss candy bars, weight loss teas or herbal cleanses, fat or
calorie blocking diet supplements or vitamins. We do not require
this because you will build and maintain your success from the
normal food items that you already buy at your grocery store.
(You can voluntarily add these types of products into the
Performance Diet program if you have found find alternative
brands that are safe and effective. While some weight loss aids
or boosters (mentioned above) may assist with initial program
convenience or progress, we have found that diets where you are
required to buy and eat special pre-packaged meals or use some
of the other diet support products that are recommended by other
dietary programs do not work for lasting weight loss.
This is because these items do not generally support your
learning and your ability to build the needed food and exercise
choice habits necessary to maintain your success in the REAL
world. These products are short term fixes that are impractical,
too expensive, or too unpleasant to incorporate into a lifelong
maintenance plan --- a plan where you can truly get your life
off a diet and move on to better things.)
6. Endorsement
or display of media-hyped unrealistic fashion-model emaciated
bodies or steroid pumped bodybuilder
images that are more a matter of genetics or extremism.
Instead, we support you in finding your personal best appearance
that is realistic in accordance with your genetics, body
structure and circumstances. If you do come to us with
unrealistic or unsafe weight loss goals, we will quickly
identify them and help you set weight loss goals for your body
type that you can attain safely.

And last, but not certainly least, we won’t hype or distort
the facts about what it takes for honest weight loss success.
Unlike many other weight loss programs, we won't promise you
that our program will fit conveniently into your lifestyle in
order to mislead you into buying it before we even know what
your lifestyle is! This is also because we have repeatedly
discovered that an unhealthy lifestyle is usually a significant
factor contributing to being overweight.
We won't insult
your intelligence by telling you the weight loss process is easy
or fast. We know from 20 years experience that when you are
finally successful using our cutting edge tools, you will most
likely describe our program to others as being, "the
toughest diet you'll ever love."
We will not we
foolishly guarantee or even imply you that you can loose 2
pounds each and every week or 10 pounds in 30 days
(like our largest competitors.) Research has shown that the
most a person can actually lose a week in actual body fat
(not water, muscle or organ tissue) and safely sustain that fat
loss, appears to be about 2 pounds a week. Other long term
weight loss studies suggest that the individuals who lose the
most weight and, far more importantly keep it off to reach 5
year maintenance gold standard of the weight loss industry, lose
on the average of about ¼ to 1/2 pound of actual body fat per
week over the extended period they were dieting. This realistic
level of sustainable weight loss success is most likely due to
the fact that successful diets need numerous plateau periods and
break periods where no weight is lost at all or even a small
amount is gained back --- just to prevent the body’s
starvation effect (where the body’s normal calorie burning
metabolism is turned down because of the extended diet period.)
This ½ to ¼ pound a week realistic and
safely sustainable level of weight loss success. It is just
not a very exciting marketing claim. But, it is something honest
to measure your real success by and it is an average level of
sustainable, safe and realistic actual fat loss that you and
almost all of our clients can expect on our, or any other,
honest program.
Unfortunately, too many dieters impatiently
yearn for their body to be more attractive by some special date,
occasion or special season. This event or date fuels the fire of
their unrealistic hopes that the exaggerated weight loss claims
and guarantees made by many programs are true. This then sets
them up as the ideal bait to be burned by diet marketing hype.
Worse yet, the sea of marketing hype that is
currently flooding both the weight loss industry and the
magazine stands creates false expectations and standards of
weight loss success and is a double edged sword. These
popularized false expectations and standards of success cause
many dieters to select unhealthy and dangerous fad programs that
also slow down their calorie burning basic metabolism which then
turns the rest of their lives into one diet after another while
they are getting fatter and fatter after each new diet. Or,
these false expectations and standards cause many (if not most,)
dieters to quit the few existing legitimate programs that were
actually delivering honest and safe success (losing ½ to ¼
pound of actual body fat each week.)
We promise we
won’t hype or distort the facts about what it takes for honest
weigh loss success even if it conflicts with your fondest hopes
and illusions and even if the truth about real weight loss
success is not exciting. We also promise will treat you like the
adult you are and give you all the facts necessary so you can
make the enlightened choices that will give you best chance for
success in this most difficult area of health habits change.
